Welcome...
To Hope-Inspired Stories, for anyone who'd like to discover more about books and
stories that uplift and encourage.
Several years ago, while teaching high school art, I found out I was as thrilled as my students when they won awards or were acknowledged for their accomplishments, and that promoting other people's good works was very gratifying.
So it's my hope you are blessed with a message of grace through the words of authors featured here.
Please join me each week as writers of fiction, nonfiction, and devotionals; of romance, mystery, historical and contemporary stories share their work.
For the month of September, Hope Inspired Stories will hi-light historical Regency and Federalist period stories. My guest this week is well-known multi-published author MaryLu Tyndall with her two latest novels, The Liberty Bride, published by Barbour Publishing, and her story of romance and high adventure on the open seas in her book entitled The Reckless. Enjoy!
It's especially meaningful to me to have MaryLu as a guest. Her book, The Blue Enchantress was the first inspirational novel I'd ever read...
My story:
My story:
I came to Christ on Oct. 2, 1992, but continued to read secular novels, as I'd recently joined a local writers' group. And, as a new believer, I never even knew Christian fiction existed.
In 2009, I went into my Alpha & Omega store to pick up a gift, decided to check out their books--and behold--spotted The Blue Enchantress, my first Christian novel!
I was truly blessed because of that choice--and never had any interest in my former reading habits. Further, it gave me a new and healthy Purpose, as I also joined ACFW that year.
Thank you and may God bless you, MaryLu--The Lord has used you in a mighty way!

The Reckless
Captain Reena Charlisse Hyde always gets what she wants. She wanted to be the best female pirate on the Caribbean and she is. She wants to find the mythical Fountain of Youth and she knows the location of the map. And now after searching across the Caribbean for the man she intends to marry, she has found him. There are only two problems. He doesn't want to be found, and he's on board a Royal Navy frigate—the last place a pirate should venture.
Frederick Carlton thought he was finally safe from the woman who held his heart. But her attempt to rescue him labels him a deserter from the Royal Navy. He’s turned his life over to God and plans on being a preacher, but every moment he spends with Reena drives him deeper into a past he longs to forget.
Mutinies, deserted islands, treasure maps, battles, traitors, and villains send the couple sailing on a tsunami of adventure throughout the Caribbean in search of the Fountain of Youth. Frederick longs to escape the lure of the woman he loves. Reena longs for Frederick to love her again. But in the end, they will both have to choose between eternal youth or the lives of everyone they love....

Hey Pat. Welcome to the 'MaryLu Tyndall's books changed my life for the better' club. Her writing has truly been touched by God. This has to be one of your best giveaways! I haven't seen Beyond the Mask and hear only great things about it. Have a blessed week, Matey!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat. I’m looking forward to The Liberty Bride. I have read all the others and have been throughly enjoying the way they bring history to life. I haven’t seen Beyond the Mask but it sounds very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a huge MaryLu Tyndall fan, after discovering one of her books, I devoured all the rest! She is one of my top favorite writers of all time, and a true woman of God who I deeply admire. I haven't read The Liberty Bride or seen the movie Beyond the Mask. This is a delightful prize pack, and I appreciate both of you authors.:-)
ReplyDeleteI have been reading MaryLu's books for years and they sit proudly on my shelves. I love her inclusion of spiritual warfare.
ReplyDeletei’ve read 3 of The Daughters of the Mayflower series and of course would not want to miss The Liberty Bride. I really can’t imagine being conflicted over two countries. I’m anxious to see where her loyalties will lie.

I am a huge MaryLu Tyndall fan. I am really enjoying the Daughters of the Mayflower series. I just downloaded The Reckless book last night. This is a very nice giveaway and thank you for your generosity. Like you I was so grateful when I discovered my first MaryLu Tyndall book.
ReplyDeleteI have been AWOL from reading for a while, but in the past have thoroughly enjoyed MAryLu’s stories. My favorite all-time fictional hero was her Alex. And that says a lot because I’ve read some excellent books. Thank you Pat for reminding me of her new work. Both sound excellent and I love the cover art On The Liberty Bride! It reminds me of another Tyndall favorite, Veil of Pearls.
