Tricia Goyer ~ A Daring Escape

Welcome...

To Hope-Inspired Stories, for anyone who'd like to discover more about books and stories that uplift and encourage.

Several years ago, while teaching high school art, I also discovered I was as thrilled as my students when they won awards or were acknowledged for their accomplishments, and that promoting other people's good works was very gratifying.

So it is my hope you are blessed with a message of grace through the words of authors featured here. Please join me in welcoming writers of fiction, nonfiction, and devotionals; of romance, mystery, historical and contemporary stories as they share their work.

For the month of February, we will be hi-lighting exciting stories of World War II

This week, we're presenting "A Daring Escape," by Tricia Goyer, an exciting story about the rescue of children from Czechoslovakia from under the brutal Nazi regime--and of courage and love overcoming unrelenting hate.

From Tricia about her book...

"My most recent novel is a World War II historical novel, "A Daring Escape". This novel is inspired by the true stories I heard about Czech children rescued from concentration camps by Nicholas Winton. One man's efforts save 669 children--that's amazing! Those children now have children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The ripple effect of Winton's heroic efforts is amazing. "A Daring Escape" is a fictionalized version of that story, yet so many of the facts are true to history.

This story is also meaningful for other reasons. First, my daughter is a missionary in the Czech Republic. She's married to a Czech and they have a Czech-American baby! When I'm in that country it feels like a home away from home. I've also met one of those children who was rescued. He's now 88-years-old, and I'm currently writing his memoir. That time period and experiences tug at my heart. I'm thankful I get to continue to share about this important time in history." ~ Tricia Goyer

A Daring Escape (The London Chronicles Book 2) by [Goyer, Tricia]

Danger Closes In. Can the Children be Rescued?

As the threat of World War II looms on the horizon, American Amity Mitchell is living a comfortable life abroad as a tutor in England. Life changes when an urgent telegram arrives from her brother, Andrew, summoning her to Prague. Nazi forces tighten their grip on the country, and Andrew's efforts to help Jewish children escape Czechoslovakia grow desperate. Children's lives are at risk. Amity knows she can't ignore God's call to join her brother's cause.
Amity's boss, Clark, arrives in Prague, urging her to return. Soon, he too finds himself helping prepare kinder transports bound for the safety of England. With the sound of German tanks rumbling over cobblestone streets, Amity and Clark race to save innocent lives. Will their prayers for deliverance be answered?
A Daring Escape is a gripping tale of hope, self-sacrifice, and the power of unrelenting love overcoming unspeakable hate.
